According to some, this is the masterpiece of all the literary works of Hadrat Maulânâ Muhammad Idris Sahib Kândehlawi l. It stands out like a shining star and enjoys the most acceptance from all the writings of Hadrat Maulânâ l.
No Urdu Sirah book compares to the greatness of Sîratul Mustafâ when it comes to the depth of research and having the original sources as the foundation. Hadrat Maulana Idrîs Sahib l has made clear what the feelings and ambitions of a true Muslim should be with regards to Nabi s. He has not adopted an inferiority complex in the light of European and Western objections on Islam.
It was the desire of Hadrat Maulânâ Muhammad Idris Sahib l to principally put together a Sirah work that will serve to bring out the authentic narrations of the life of Nabi s, and not to be affected by the objections of Western and European scholars. Many Muslim writers have hidden narrations, have wilfully interpreted narrations according to their whims, and have dismissed many narrations on flimsy accounts of them being weak. Hadrat Maulana Muhammad Idris Sâhib l has, through this work of his, preserved the noble lifestyle of Nabi s and has given us confidence to stand up in the face of falsehood to protect and propagate true Islam.
In essence, Hadrat Maulânâ Muhammad Idris Sâhib l stood out in his time as a Muhaddith, a Mufassir, Poet and Ascetic. His character was of a very high level, yet he led a very simple life. His life was spent in study, writing and teaching. He loved books to such an extent that he bought any new book that came in the market. He was a cheerful person and was very accommodating to one and all.
